Jemima J – Jane Green

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve read this book. I’m a big fan of Jane Green and this is where the love affair began.

If little girls dream of being a princess and marrying the handsome prince, fat girls dream of being thin and being loved.

Sadly true.

Jemima was a bit of a hero of mine until I got my head around the idea that I could be loveable in whichever dress size I happened to be. But for those times when a thin body was the pot of gold at the end of my rainbow, Jemima was an inspiration.

Although my thoughts have changed somewhat on what constitutes my “happily ever after” I will still always remember this book fondly. And I guess a tiny part of me will never stop wishing for the fairytale.
